This is the list of all the classes that we have taught since we began. Please browse through the list and let us know if you would like us to offer any of the classes again that you find interesting.

Mon, Mar 18:

  • Facilitator's Class
  • Time: 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM
    Location: Greenwood area
Is there a skill, hobby, or chunk of knowledge you are passionate about? Want to share that passion with other interested people? Curious about how many people with an aversion to public speaking have come to love being facilitators?

Come to this class to learn how to be a facilitator with Seattle Free School, and to meet and network with other facilitators. This informal meeting covers what Seattle Free School is, tips on teaching, and how to schedule and promote your course.

Whether you wish to facilitate a class, or just want to learn more about Seattle Free School, you are welcome to attend this meetup. We recognize that teaching others can be an intimidating task, and we are here to support you and provide assistance in making Seattle Free School a fun adventure for you.

Actual class location will be emailed to those who register.

Thu, Mar 21:

  • Esperanto
  • Time: 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
    Location: Cascade People's Center
Learn to speak Esperanto, an international language. Designed to be easy to learn, its regular grammar has no exceptions, and spelling is completely phonetic. With its Latin base, it's a good springboard to learning other languages (and to improving SAT verbal scores). Use Esperanto to travel cheaply and make friends around the world. The instructor has been using Esperanto for 27 years at international conferences, while traveling abroad, while hosting foreign guests, and through e-mail and pen pals. In this class you'll get some background, and you'll begin conversing. Even if you've had trouble learning other foreign languages, you'll be surprised at how quickly you pick it up.

The Cascade Peoples Center is located at
    309 Pontius Ave N
    Seattle, WA 98109-5421
