Thu, Jun 13:

  • Leading your group to success when you are not in charge (yet)
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
    Location: Springwire
It happens everywhere... put a group of smart, talented, or even brilliant people in a room together, and coordinating basic decisions and deliverable results is like pulling teeth.

In this class, we will go over some essential tools that you can see, practice, and apply to move action forward within any group environment where people need to coordinate action. This is especially relevant for people in technology where coordination and complexity go hand-in-hand.

If you are a manager, or just want to practice greater leadership within your teams as an individual contributor, then this class is for you. Key topics include "Conversations for Action" and, time permitting, "Barriers to Commitment."

About the location: Springwire is an international nonprofit with an office in Belltown. You can learn more about the work they do here: http://springwire.us/
Please note that this office is on the first floor of the building and the entrance to the building is on the third floor.
    Springwire
    2901 Third Avenue, Suite 100

About the instructor: Ashley is the principal of Primary Goals and has over 20 years experience in the software industry. She holds a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A. in Applied Behavioral Science, and has significant training and experience in professional coaching for leaders in technology. She has been an adventure education instructor for Outward Bound, a crisis counselor for the KC crisis line, and a mediator with the KC Dispute resolution center. She's also the mother of 4-year-old twins and an avid paraglider pilot. Her theory of practice focuses on the health of the individual and the organization, typically looking through the lenses of relationships, creativity, teaching, learning, and renewal, with the primary goal of reconnecting clients with their passion, purpose, and potential.
