This is the list of all the classes that we have taught since we began. Please browse through the list and let us know if you would like us to offer any of the classes again that you find interesting.

Sun, Jan 9:

  • Gorgeous Greetings—Card Making Basics
  • Time: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
    Location: Crown Hill United Methodist Church
    eGreetings are fine and fun, but sometimes people need to hold a special greeting in their hands. Why not take the time to make your own greeting card for someone you care about? In this workshop, you will learn what basics you need to keep on hand and how easy it is to create your own one-of-a-kind masterpieces. The instructor will provide
    all tools and materials needed to make a minimum of four greeting cards. This is a family-friendly class, so all ages are welcome.

    Instructor
    Dorothy Skans is a Seattle native and a life-long crafter. She joined Seattle Free School in order to pass along her love
    of paper art as well as to pass along her over abundance of paper.

Mon, Jan 10:

  • World Travel 101
  • Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
    Location: HI - Seattle at the American Hotel, 520 S. King Street.
    Registration is closed as the class is FULL!

    The World Travel 101 workshop teaches participants what to think about when planning a trip: what to bring, how to get there, where to stay, and how to stay safe. We also discuss the importance of traveling responsibly and respectfully with an open mind. Great for those just starting to venture into the traveler's world!

    To bring: a curiosity about the world, and a maybe a pencil, if you\'re into note taking.

    Instructor: Carissa is the Programs Director for the Washington State Council of Hostelling International, an international non-profit that promotes international community building through travel. She has lived in India and Thailand, and traveled in South and South East Asia, Central America, North America and Europe.

    When: Monday January 10th from 6 - 8pm
    Where: HI - Seattle at the American Hotel, 520 S. King Street. Come on up the stairs to the reception desk, and they'll direct you to us!

    Location: Kaladi Brothers Coffee
    Is there a skill, hobby, or chunk of knowledge you are passionate about? Want to share that passion with other interested people? Curious about how many people with an aversion to public speaking have come to love being facilitators?

    Come to this class to learn how to be a facilitator with Seattle Free School, and to meet and network with other facilitators. This informal meeting covers what Seattle Free School is, tips on teaching, and how to schedule and promote your course.

    Whether you wish to facilitate a class, or just want to learn more about Seattle Free School, you are welcome to attend this meetup. We recognize that teaching others can be an intimidating task, and we are here to support you and provide assistance in making Seattle Free School a fun adventure for you.
